The awards ceremony for the 12th Selezione del Sindaco International Wine Contest was held in the Sala della Protomoteca in the Campidoglio, Rome, on July 9. In front of a packed audience of producers, mayors and special guests from all over Italy, Bepin De Eto, represented by the youngest of the Ceschin sisters, Silvia, received the prestigious medals from the hands of Senator Mario dalla Tor. The municipality of San Pietro di Feletto, which also won a prize, was represented by its councillor in charge of agriculture, Benedetto Pizzol.  Bepin De Eto's Faè Passito was honoured with one of the five Grand Gold Medals awarded to those chosen from 1242 wines selected and judged by a jury of 80 wine experts and journalists from Italy and many other countries such as the United States and Russia. The quality of Bepin De Eto wines was reaffirmed and rewarded by two silver medals, for the Manzoni Colli Trevigiani IGT and the Greccio Rosso Colli di Conegliano DOCG. “We are enormously proud of these medals,” said the founder, Ettore Ceschin, who concluded by stating that, “choosing the path of sacrifice, passion and quality always brings its just rewards”.
